On 17 September 2009 Mr. Rajko Skubic, Director-General of the Slovenian Customs Administration together with his colleagues welcomed high representatives of the Customs of the People's Republic of China lead by the Vice Minister Mr. Li Kenong.
Slovenia presented information on the simplified procedures, controls and paperless operations. The latter ranks Slovenia high amongst EU member-states.
The guests pointed out model co-operation between the administrations. Both sides agreed to nominate contact points in order to ensure efficient and faster exchange of information between the two Customs. The EC-China Agreement on Customs Co-operation and Mutual Administrative Assistance of December 2008 will be undoubtedly helpful in handling mutual assistance requests.
