Counterfeited Stihl chain saws in the Port of Koper

In April 2010, the Customs officers in the Port of Koper detected a container loaded with counterfeited Stihl chain saws. The saws were destroyed under the customs supervision.
On 10 April 2010, a container from China arrived in the Port of Koper. According to the cargo manifest, it contained 1,000 boxes of gasoline chain saws in total weight of 14,850 kg. The consignee was a business company in Croatia. Two days later, on 12 April 2010, the Customs officers partly examined the container and they suspected that the goods were counterfeit. The container was then completely unloaded in thoroughly examined.
2,028 counterfeited gasoline chain saws of Stihl trademark packed in 1,014 boxes were seized, 14 more than declared. On 18 April 2010, the chain saws were destroyed under the customs supervision in Ljubljana.
