The Government of the Republic of Slovenia relieved of his post Franc Košir, who had led the Slovenian Customs for sixteen years and retired in October 2007, and appointed Rajko Skubic as new Director-General of the Customs Administration of the Republic of Slovenia. Until recently, he was the Head of the Tariff, Value and Origin Division of the General Customs Directorate.
Rajko Skubic graduated from Ljubljana University, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Starting as a secondary school teacher with the High School of Electrical Engineering (1975 to 1984), he later moved into electronic engineering as Development Engineer in Iskra Kibernetika Kranj. He joined the Customs in 1991. From 1991 to 1993 he worked as the Customs Inspector and in 1997 he was appointed as the Head of the General Customs Directorate Division.
