During the fuel control on May 7, 2007 one of the customs mobile units  discovered smuggled cigarettes at the Šentilj border crossing. 3.499.600 Memphis cigarettes were found in a vehicle of Croat registration. Their market value would amount to  EUR 383,206.2.

The smuggled goods were seized and an appropriate offence proceeding was initiated. 

In the year 2007 this was the fourth  major detection of smuggled cigarettes. During the last year there were nine major detections and 45 million cigarettes of  various marks were found.
